Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself
Hello, remember me? The absolute goofball with a shit-ton of notes and ideas in my Notion notebook and index cards that I fully plan to turn into a post either here or there, but due to Many Other Things, I have had neither the time nor the mental energy to write about any of it. Remember her?
Well, I’m back. Feel free to clap or roll your eyes (or both if you’re that coordinated) at this point.
I don’t need to haul out the receipts, but let’s just say that all the Other Things, especially over the last 8-9 months, damn near took me out. Overwhelm and Burnout? 0/10, do NOT recommend.
So, anyway, as I got closer to my latest Milestone Birthday, it was obvious that changes needed to be made. I began shedding some of the roles and identities that I had held onto a little too long and exiting spaces where I no longer belong to make room for the roles and spaces that ARE meant for me.
Transformations are seldom easy—and sometimes involve tears and an air fryer full of tater tots—but I’ve been determined to lean fully into this glow-up.
I’ve also burned the Bucket List and replaced it with my “I’m the kind of woman who…” list.
- I’m the kind of woman who looks up hip-hop dance tutorials online and searches for classes in my area.
- I’m the kind of woman who is fully committed to a daily meditation practice.
- I’m the kind of woman who is no longer estranged from my camera(s).
- I’m the kind of woman who is planning hikes along the many greenways in the area*.
- I’m the kind of woman who knows my worth and refuses to settle, whether it’s work or relationships or any other aspect of life.
- I’m the kind of woman who (finally) learned to show up for myself so I can better show up for the people I care about.
- I’m the kind of woman who creates art solely to amuse myself.
And—no promises—I may even be the kind of woman who finally starts blogging (at least semi-regularly)!
So, hey there! I’m Vicster. I’m an OG GenX’er who just turned 60; and Baby, I’m just getting started!
*At least until those “feels like” temperature start hitting the high double or triple-digits.
