After much futzing and tweaking and general farting around, I finally just Did The Damn Thing and pulled the curtain open on my new Etsy shop, Magic Turtle Studios!
I’ve been tossing around this idea for a few months now. It started coming up for me again back in November, when that cold virus took me out for a few weeks. Instead of my walking meditation, I was back on the cushion and I just kept feeling the pull to do this. As for the shop name, well, I have to credit my buddies for the inspiration:

I’ve been missing my daily Turtle Therapy during the winter and can’t wait to see them again in a few weeks! Not looking forward to that oppressive summer heat and humidity, though, so I’m going to appreciate the cooler weather while we have it.
So anyway, where was I? Oh, right: how I came up with this bright idea to open Magic Turtle Studios and sell my art*.
My photos had been up on my SmugMug site for the last several years, but the platform really didn’t offer a way to display and market my work without paying them a LOT more money. The math just wasn’t mathin’ so I started making plans to move away from SmugMug. But first, I needed to clear up some bandwidth in my life. I let go of some roles in my life that I was no longer in alignment with. The idea was to give body and spirit a chance to rest, but then I kept taking on other projects and…
Finally, in November, the Ancestors/Angels/Universe had had enough and pretty much said, “We’ve been telling you to take a break for the past six months! Here’s a nasty cold/cough: now, sit your ass down!” The illness may have taken me out for most of November, but the spirits couldn’t stop me from coming up with another project.
I can’t help it. I’m a Manifesting Generator: it’s how I roll. And thus, Magic Turtle Studios was born.
I’ll be posting new listings on my website: magicturtlestudios.com. I’ll have another listing up soon that I’ll announce on the blog and will probably have some sort of email newsletter situation happening at some point that y’all can sign up for to get the latest news. That was one of the things I had been futzing with before I decided to just open the shop and deal with the other stuff later.
So, anyway, stop on by! Hopefully, as I add to the stop, you’ll find something you love!
p.s. You can also find Magic Turtle Studios on Instagram and Pinterest.
*I may be adding paintings and other bits and pieces to the shop at some point. For now, it’s primarily photography.
