#AdoptDontShop 🐾 On May 5th

A house is not a home without a pet hair roller on every table.

This weekend you have the opportunity to make your house into a home: the Bissell1 Pet Foundation is holding an Empty The Shelters event nationwide on Saturday, May 5th. If you were thinking of adding a FLOOF to your home, this is a great weekend to do so as the foundation is covering adoption costs! Click through to the site to see which shelters and rescue groups in your area are participating.

Anyone who has known me for more than ten seconds knows that I love me some rescue cats (and dogs)! All of my cats came to me through Island Cat Resources and Adoption and Oakland Animal Services. Even if you have your heart set on a specific breed, there is very likely a rescue group for that breed, so hit your favorite search engine to find the furball of your dreams.

Bissell Pet Foundation’s efforts to date have saved nearly 19,000 lives in 14 states. Every adoption of a shelter or rescue pet saves two lives: the life of the pet you adopt, and the life of the pet that can take that vacated space. If this isn’t the right time for you to adopt a pet, you can donate either to the Bissell Pet Foundation or to your local shelter or rescue.

Rescue Pets ROCK! Here are the furkids who rescued me over the last 17 years.
