Dear Mainstream Media: Watch And Learn
Rachel Maddow demonstrates a level of professionalism and journalistic responsibility that I was afraid had been lost forever from contemporary media:
Bravo, Ms. Maddow!

That is, indeed, very encouraging. And it wasn't too hard, either. That's the weirdest thing of all. It's not that hard. Compare it to so many other "journalists" who, faced with endless proof that they not only slipped up, but that they were also entirely wrong on the facts, and yet never back off what they said.
I remember when Bill O'Reilly said that if no one found Weapons of Mass Distraction in Iraq, he would quit.
Still waiting.

It isn't hard to do and, really, I tend to have a lot MORE respect for someone who says, "yeah, I should have caught that and I'm going to work harder next time," than I do for people who cannot ever admit they're wrong (even in the face of overwhelming evidence that they are).
Being wrong is a weakness only if you never learn from your mistakes.

Ah, well Billo left himself an out by saying if noone found WMD...I don't think he ever gave a timeline for when they had to be found, therefore, he'll stick around until the bitter, bitter end.
