Congratulations. Enjoy your victory today but know that the hard work is only beginning. Your constituents need decent living wages and health care. Our national debt needs to be brought under control. Our soldiers need to start coming home from Iraq. That's just the start of the to-do list.
Know this: The Neocon faction has been wounded, but they did not die. They will come at you with everything. Do not forget the lessons of the past 16 years: If you so much as forget to pick up after your dog while you're walking him, they will seize on it and make it a front-page scandal.
You have been elected because the people have placed their faith in you to bring our country out of its darkest time. Keep your eye on the ball, keep your collective nose clean, and DON'T SCREW THIS UP!
