Talking to myself

I overslept this morning. Nothing too serious, really, just around five or six minutes (enough for a jolt, but not enough to throw off the whole day). The alarm went off and, as always, I switched over to NPR for 10-15 minutes.

Next thing I know, NPR is playing and I'm arranging the cupboards and cleaning things, even though I know I should be getting ready for work. I'm picking up all the usual audio cues from the radio: the traffic reports, the business news, weather, etc. I contemplate hopping in the shower, but tell myself that I need to hang out and wait for my mother so I can speak to her.

Then, I turned around and said to my reflection, "If you're waiting to talk to mom, then you are obviously ASLEEP!"

I woke up, laughing at how my sub-conscious so clearly communicates with me sometimes.
