Grant me patience
So today is another Spare the Air day and this time the ferries are participating. The Alameda/Oakland ferry said they are adding more boats and service runs, so hopefully, they've worked out the logistics of having more boats (there's only so much room at the docks, after all) and it won't be quite the nightmare of previous "Spare the Fare" days.
Still, the queue for the 8:20 a.m. boat out of Alameda this morning was much longer than normal and the Encinal was already off schedule by several minutes.
Before loading, the deckhand made an announcement: "For our regular commuters, this is your LAST CHANCE to get in your car and drive to work! For the rest of us, let's get this over with!"
Amen.
