I thought I was the Bally Table King
I just spent an hour and a half playing pinball at Lucky JuJu (photos coming soon!) here on the island (and very close to Chez Vicster). I hadn't played pinball in nearly 20 years and it showed. There also was a show opening at Lucky JuJu for one of my Flickr friends, Lane (a truly wonderful photographer--go check out her Flickr photostream. I'll wait...).
After Lucky JuJu, I really wanted to go into The City to see one of my favourite local bands, 20 Minute Loop play, since I haven't seen them in ages. But I've been running around all day and once I got back from Lucky JuJu I just felt absolutely shattered. So, I'll tie back my hair, take out the contacts, get washed up and make it an earlier night than I'd planned. Phooey!
But, before I retire for the evening, I have just this to say: Pinball totally kicks ass on computer games! I played nearly every table in the joint and each one had its own "life" to it, its own way of being touched to get it to respond. The relationship to the game is so much more physical than with a computer game, and there's the sound and the lights (so much eye candy!), so it's a much fuller sensory experience.
Besides, Pete Townsend has never written a musical about WarCraft or Tomb Raider. So to recap, pinball ROCKS!!!
